- Linkin Park, Incubus, and Hoobastank all came out of tiny Agoura Hills, not bad for a suburb of 20,000 people.
- The town's name is actually a misspelling, residents accidentally misspelled local sheep herder Pierre Agoure's last name when picking their city's name in 1927.
- In the 1920s, Paramount Pictures owned a ranch here for filming Westerns, and the community was briefly and ambitiously called 'Picture City.'
- The city is nicknamed the 'Gateway to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area,' and a massive wildlife crossing overpass now lets mountain lions stroll over the freeway.
